Years ago, you'd visit a plastic surgeon or specialist for botox injections. But who is better qualified than a dentist to treat your head, face, neck and mouth? Dentists receive extensive training with injections, and are often more gentle than other professionals because they use needles every day! Dentists also have a unique attention to appearance, personal health and patient comfort.
Every dentist must meet several requirements before administering botox injections or dermal fillers. If someone is not already a physician, nurse or qualified medical professional with a valid medical license, they are not able to be certified. Our dentists who provide Botox treatment undergo extensive training, including a Botox Training & Certification Course and periodic continuing education classes.
The effects from Botox will last an average of 4 to 6 months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.
Botox is anywhere from $9-$20 per unit. The price will depend on your practice. Most can expect to use 20-50 units. Fifty units typically takes care of the forehead, glabella, and crow’s feet.
